Meeting and Exceeding Expectations.
One of the most common remarks we hear from patients is how much they appreciate our careful attention to all of the dental details. This is important for us and the patient, so we can best understand what’s occurring inside your mouth as a whole. We understand you have high expectations for your oral health, and so do we. That’s why we respect your needs and your schedule with thoughtful, thorough and on-time appointments for exceptional dental care you won’t find anywhere else.
New patients, and those who haven’t been seen in awhile, receive a comprehensive exam that includes oral cancer screening, TMJ exam, periodontal evaluation, and digital x-rays. From these exams, we can build a treatment plan that is customized for your individual situation. We’ll take our time and go over all your options, until we create your perfect smile.
Early detection of oral cancer is vital to successful treatment. Alcohol and tobacco use increase your risk for oral cancer, but anyone can develop the disease. We use visual and manual methods to detect abnormal tissue in your gums, cheek, tongue, and other areas of the mouth. For added screening, we use VELscope Enhanced Oral Assessment System which uses tissue fluorescence to spot abnormalities not visible to the naked eye.
We take the safe approach to see what’s going on under the surface. Our digital x-rays are low radiation, which means they emit 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays. For comparison, you would have to have:
10 of our low-radiation x-rays to reach the same level of radiation exposure as riding in an airplane for just one hour
400 of our x-rays to equal the radiation exposure in one chest x-ray
11,000 of our x-rays to equal the radiation exposure in one mammogram.
We also use a 3D panoramic cone beam scanner which gives us a full view of your whole mouth. Our Diagnodent Caries Detection System allows us to detect dental decay before it becomes apparent on the surface, and are key to preventive care.
We provide a thorough, deep cleaning of your teeth and remove harmful plaque and bacteria buildup, using Piezo ultrasonic scalers to give you a clean you can both see and feel. We’ll show the correct way to floss and brush your teeth, so you can maintain your smile at home. It is our belief that healthy habits go a long way to keeping your smile beautiful.
Your gums are just as important as your teeth. Keeping your gums healthy is an important part of great oral care. We’ll check for any signs of gum disease, including swollen, bleeding gums and receding gum lines. Don’t lose your teeth to preventable gum disease. We’ll create a perio-therapy treatment plan when necessary, and can prescribe Arestin, an antibiotic to kill bacteria that leads to gum disease.
Our state-of-the-art technology is a vital part of our office, and helps us deliver the quality and level of dental care you deserve. We believe in educating our patients so you can make informed decisions about your dental care. That’s why we use the CAESY patient education system, and offer computers in all our treatment rooms. With the use of intraoral cameras, you get to see exactly what Dr. Huet does, which helps in understanding your diagnosis.
Decay is the dental enemy, and can quickly take over your smile. However, the spread of decay is easy to prevent, with routine oral care and great hygiene. Fluoride can aid in preventing decay, as it restores essential minerals to the enamel of your teeth. We recommend fluoride treatments for children at every visit and are happy to provide them for adults as necessary. Fluoride can also help decrease tooth sensitivity.
Bruxism, the technical term for nighttime grinding, can cause excess wear and damage to your teeth, cause extreme tooth sensitivity, and lead to headaches and pain in the temporomandibular joint. If you grind your teeth while you sleep, ask us how a customized nightguard can help prevent damage and protect your teeth.
Dental emergencies happen, no matter how much we try to prevent them. We’ll get you in as soon as possible, in an effort to make you pain-free and feeling better quickly. Don’t let a simple toothache destroy your day.
